About the event
For our first Saturday ride of the season, we're pleased to head over to Slavic Village and learn a little about our city's great Polish heritage, courtesy of our hosts at the Polish-American Cultural Center of Cleveland.
The non-profit center, "dedicated to the promotion of Polish culture, traditions, language, history, literature, arts, music, theater, and education" for "all who desire to be in touch with Polish heritage," is undergoing a bit of a renaissance of late, with EDWINS founder and recent James beard finalist Brandon Chrostowski opening a pop-up, Bar Mleczny’s, in the center to serve great Polish food in a neighborhood which has unfortunately seen too many longtime favorites go dark of late.
Our event on the first of July will kick off officially with a bike fix-a-thon sponsored by Bike Cleveland and the Slavic Village CDC at 12:30. If you're just here for the ride, gather at 1:30 for a 2:30 roll-out.
After the ride, the PACC is opening their lovely garden to visitors, and will also offer tours of the PACC Heritage Museum & Gallery.
Post-ride food and beverages will be on sale after the ride, so we'll make sure you have a little bit of an appetite.
Parking for the event will be available directly across the street from the Cultural Center, and we will gather and set up our HQ in the grassy lot next to the parking lot.
