About the event
We got the weather back on our sides last Monday, let's see if we can do it again. Join us for week eleven (can you believe how fast the season has gone by?) of our schedule of free and inclusive bike rides Monday, July 17 in Gunning Park, on the southern edge of Kamm's Corners as we swing from the far eastern reaches of Cleveland to the far western reaches.
We gather at 6 PM near the Gunning rec center, and we'll ride out at 7 PM. Join us early for registration, t-shirts and 50/50 raffle as well as to put some air in your tires if needed.
Gunning Park was the site of what was at the time our biggest ride ever about a year ago. That ride -- around 350 people -- has been eclipsed close to a dozen times since over the last year, which tells you something about the growth of Slow Roll Cleveland and the impact we're making on our communities. You're out there every week helping us grow, and we thank you all for that effort and for being part of the community.
This week we'll be passing along streets currently being considered by the Bike Cleveland Better Streets Committee, an initiative "made up of resident volunteers who are passionate about improving the infrastructure in their neighborhoods." We'll hopefully have someone from Bike Cleveland on hand to discuss the program a little more in depth.
One note we wanted to clarify (and we'll also be putting this up on our website for further edification): gas-powered vehicles are NOT permitted in our rides. It doesn't matter if it's a gas-powered scooter, a gas-powered bike, a moped, or a hybrid motorcycle-type vehicle; if it is powered by internal combustion engine, it is not allowed on a Slow Roll.
