About the event
We've hit the halfway point of our 2023 season of free and inclusive weekly bike rides; with next Monday's ride we'll flip over to the back half of our schedule. It feels like it's gone by in a flash, but we've roared back to life after a couple of weeks of dreary weather, and are rolling hundreds deep under sunny skies.
We'll hope to keep that streak going Monday in Sam Miller Park, just east of the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse on the city's east side. We enjoyed a great time here last year which saw us visit the childhood home of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster (Superman's other co-creator, Jerry Siegel, lived a short distance away) and take in the leafy green streets of Glenville.
We start at 7 PM, and we'll gather in the small park (which includes a limited number of parking spots; we suggest parking in nearby Gordon Park or the E. 72nd St Lakefront Reservation if you're arriving late) beginning at 6 PM.
We'll have new shirts for sale this week in all popular sizes, including a limited edition Slow Roll baseball T, and a long sleeve model as we head toward the colder months. We'll show you those in a separate post later this week.
As always, gas-powered vehicles are NOT permitted on Slow Rolls. Thanks for understanding!
