About the event

Since 2018, we have joined every year with Juneteenth Freedom Rides to celebrate Juneteenth and Black History in Cleveland, and this year is no exception.

For many Black Americans, Independence Day does not fall on July 4, but on June 19. Join us next Monday at 7 PM at Jo Ann Park in the city's Lee-Harvard neighborhood and explore the unique experiences and history of our city's Black community and how they mesh with a larger sense of belonging across the entire country as the Juneteenth holiday begins to flourish and take foothold as a source of pride and hope invested in this nation.

As usual, we'll have a few stops along the way to discuss points of local interest, with guest speakers on hand. So not only will your legs get a workout, your brain might feel more engaged than usual, too.

Our booth will be up and running by 6 PM on Monday, so feel free to drop in any time after that to pick up a t-shirt or a free schedule or sticker.

We remind you once again to please check out your bikes before bringing them to the ride and make sure your tires, brakes and other moving parts are in good working order. Doing so will save both us and you a lot of hassle on the road.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We unfortunately experienced a number of car break-ins during our Slavic Village ride last weekend, with a number of squad also suffering losses and damage. We advise that you make sure your cars are securely locked before setting out on your ride, and also that you not leave any valuables in your vehicles. *We do not control the parking situation at any of our rides!*
